"King Arthur: Searching For The Hero" is a contemporary reimagining of an opera by Henry Pursell, staged by Open Opera Ukraine in October 2024. The company aimed for a modern look only slightly reminiscent of the original Arthuriana, as the main question that the production poses is what makes hero a hero and who are the contemporary heroes.
For the lettering I have used the Decutto font by Ukrainian font designer Michael Rafailyk.
Since one of the main ideas was "everyone can become a hero", I opted for the anonymous Arthur who becomes a sillhouette and anyone can try to recognize themselves in his features. The stock photos were out of question, so I collaborated with the talented photographer Ruslan Synhaewsky and we made a photoshoot which I later photomanipulated so the figure is still realistic but the face fully blurred.
As there were many photos, besides the main poster we have also made a small teaser for the social networks which is supposed to be even more mysterious.
